Data transparency
How your business's details are handled after an email about its website. Last updated: 15 September 2026.
WebCheckup is run by Juri Buora, an individual established in Italy, who is responsible for these details (the data controller). Contact: juri@webcheckup.online.
I wrote about your business's own website: something visible on the public site that you can check yourself, and an offer of a short paid check-up of that site. I write only about your website. Businesses are shortlisted by automated checks of their public website, but I read and approve every email myself before it is sent.
Your business name, website address, general location and, where a public listing shows one, phone number; the email address I wrote to and where I found it; the results of an external, non-invasive check of your public website, including screenshots of public pages and a speed measurement; my email to you and any reply.
Businesses are found through public map data (OpenStreetMap and Overture Maps). The email address comes from your own website or from your business's public OpenStreetMap listing, and each email says which. The website check uses only public information, the pages any visitor sees and public domain records, with no logins and no intrusive testing.
Legitimate interests (GDPR article 6(1)(f)): offering a relevant service to a business about its own website, limited to one business address and that one subject. In Ireland, email of this kind is governed by regulation 13 of the European Communities (Electronic Communications Networks and Services) (Privacy and Electronic Communications) Regulations 2011 (S.I. No. 336 of 2011).
Reply "no" to the email: the address you reply from and your website's domain are added automatically to a permanent do-not-contact list, and I will not write again. You can also write to juri@webcheckup.online. Objecting is free and needs no reason.
The do-not-contact entry is kept for as long as WebCheckup operates, only so that your objection is respected. If we do not end up working together, everything else is erased automatically 12 months after our last email; what remains is your website's domain and the dates of contact, so that your business is never contacted again by mistake. Copies of the emails themselves stay in my mailbox as the record of what was actually said. If you order a check-up, its details are kept as long as the work and Italian tax rules require.
My mailbox is Gmail, provided in Europe by Google Ireland Limited, which may process data outside the European Economic Area under the safeguards set out in Google's privacy policy. Notifications on my own phone, through Telegram, show your business name and the subject line of any reply. The website check runs on my own computer. Your details are not sold, and not shared with anyone else.
You can ask for access to your details, their correction or erasure, a restriction of their use, or object to it (GDPR articles 15 to 21) by writing to the address above. You can also complain to the Italian data protection authority, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali, or to Ireland's Data Protection Commission.
